littlecloud | People have suggested this to me quite a few times particularly because I'm flexible, but yoga has become a bit of a fad and so I always brushed it off until someone kept telling me recently that I should do it. So now I'm thinking about it and of course pulled cards asking if it would be beneficial monetarily and emotionally, in general just a good choice.. Ten of Discs- Temperance- Heirophant |
Ceridwen | It looks like it would stability and contentment into your life (social and financial stability - 10 of pentacles to me also represents some form of togetherness and social interaction). With two majors coming up it looks very significant and beneficial. Hierophant of course is the card of the instructor per so, plus your commitment to it. And temperance is just so healing and heart chakra opening. Of course it isnot an exciting temperamental spread, but it suggests calm, serenity, doing the right thing, healing, balance, security, commitment and contentment to me. So I`d opt for yes |
littlecloud | 10 of discs, especially in this deck, often looks like lineage to me (family, geneology etc)and if I were to become a yoga instructor I would want to stay true to and respect its history and traditions. But yes I agree that it looks very serene and peaceful particularly with Temperance. It doesn't say "exciting career path" but yoga is not 'exciting' to me, I find it peaceful but this is also a "should I?" spread so maybe getting into it is required before I ask about it career wise? Do you think that Heirophant means I would make a good teacher or would that be another pull? |
Ceridwen | Yes, 10 of pentacles often to me has to do with lineage as well. And the hierophant to me signifies you would make an excellent teacher. But yo will have to commit to the discipline, the tradition. Question is do YOU want it? |
littlecloud | That's a good question. I've more or less reached the point in my life where I'm not sure exactly what I want to do, but I know what I don't want and what I'd prefer to feel. So it's a matter of trial and error a bit to figure out if something is the right fit for me. |
VenusDiSirius | Not quite. Temperance on 10/P tells you that the situation isn't picture perfect and The Hierophant adds the background as to why - you'd have to study a lot, and he promises little (because you cannot know unless you try). I like Temperance though, a card of fire, idealism, life. Ps, I've read an article recently about yoga and proving the test of time, unlike other activities (pilates, spinning). Yoga isn't fad. |
littlecloud | Well of course it's not picture perfect yet. It was more of a general question of if this would be a good idea for me. There's more research to be done and yes, actual studying, but I don't want to get into something if I am bad at it. |
VenusDiSirius | What would you say if the spread were - Temperance + 10/P + The Magician ? |
littlecloud | Actually that's interesting and a bit tough because in my experience Magician has always meant the power in the decision lay with someone else. But it would make me question my motives a bit because the Magician is one in complete control so I would take it as a yes, that things would likely go smoothly, maybe a tad expensive and that I would seem charming to others and that would perhaps attract them to me. |
VenusDiSirius | The Magician - natural (talent) The Hierophant - hard student XIV + 10/P - The work is just about right 10 + XIV - tweak some more |
littlecloud | I asked the question without really knowing much about how to become an instructor, looking at it now I realize I should take a few more classes to figure out what style I'd like to teach. Not sure how much of that coincides with the cards I pulled...but idk...many people have told me I would be good/natural with yoga..
|
VenusDiSirius | Your cards, your meanings! (The Hierophant could represent the people egging you on into studying yoga.)
|
littlecloud | Good point! Does it count if it's been random people telling me so over the course of 6-7 years? In conclusion what is your take on the cards? No I shouldnt? |
VenusDiSirius | It's not an outright no. Do a spread after further research on yoga. |
